Club History
The Sidewinders were first established in 1976 by four lads from Gt Yarmouth in the front room of a house on Trafalgar Road.
The four lads, Andrew Saggers, John Morgan, Mark Walsh and Robert Jones were the brains behind the formation and decieded to spread the word about the Sidewinder’s.
At the clubs peak it totaled over 80 members and was a regular on the many rallies all over the country.
However somethings can’t go on for ever! At the club’s lowest point in the late 80’s it only had just two remaining active members, Andy Saggers and his better half Sandra (better half being the truth!!). A few members never left the club (Tony Luesby, Rob Raven & Dean Greengrass) but the club just dissapeared until the reformation.
At a party attended by a few of the old members about two years ago it was suggested to resurect Sidewinder’s from the ashes. The members then set about reforming the club contacting former members and new blood to once again become part of the Sidewinder’s rebirth.
The Club now has over 30 members both new and old and attend’s rallies and arranges events for our members and our fellow scooterist to attend. We also carry out charity events in aid of worthwhile causes and this is something that the club will be doing alot more of in the coming months.
